Do authentic travel experiences appeal more to you than the mere popularity or hype of the destinations you visit? If ‘Yes!’ is your answer, let us take you on a truly bona fide voyage to Nar Phu Valley, situated north of Manang, where rustic delights await to be discovered, thanks to the age-old lifestyle, customs and culture still in practice till this day.
The tranquil valley of Nar Phu, named after two villages — Nar and Phu, is inhabited mostly by people of Tibetan origin. For decades after commercial trekking was legalized in Nepal, this area gained little attention even from the nation’s own tourism industry, let alone international community. Open recently for tourists, visiting Nar Phu Valley requires a special ‘restricted area’ entry permit, which may seem a bit expensive to you at first, but believe us, the trip is absolutely worthwhile to every penny you spend.
On this amazing trek to Nar Phu Valley, you can enjoy serenity, staying away from all the hustle and bustle of your daily routine, admiring the Himalayan scenery, exploring ancient monasteries and interacting with the aboriginal people who still raise and herd yak for their livelihood. While the most of the trek is moderate, it gets a bit strenuous when crossing high passes like and Kang La. At Orbit Alpine Adventures we take care of all the camping equipment and kitchen supplies required for this trek so that you can just travel with our crew without any worries.
Orbit Alpine Adventures offers an alternative return trail (Itinerary Option 2)) for Nar Phu Valley trek, departing from the usual course (Itinerary Option 1) at Manang and routes through Yak Kharka, Thorong La Pass, Muktinath and Jomsom, with an extra day for leisure in Pokhara, before getting back to Kathmandu.
