The Buddhist Heritage Tour from Orbit Alpine takes you through three distinct geographical locations in Nepal. You being the journey from Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama the Buddha in Tarai plains. From there you will come to Swayambhunath and Bauddhanath in Kathmandu in the hilly regions. Finally you will go to Tengboche Monastery high up in the mountains. These locations carry important religious and spiritual significance, visiting which you can also explore the lifestyle of Nepali people at three distinct places.
In Lumbini you will see how a prince eventually became The Buddha – his birth, early beginnings and determination to figure out the meaning of life. You will also understand how after years of meditation and wandering, he finally attained enlightenment and became the epitome of inner peace.
The next leg of your journey takes you to Bauddhanath and Swayambhunath in Kathmandu Valley. The stupa of Bauddhanath largest stupa in Nepal and the holiest Tibetan Buddhist temple outside Tibet. Lying in the eastern part of the city, it is the center of Buddhist culture in Kathmandu. Swayambhunath, perched atop a hill on the western edge of the Kathmandu Valley is Kathmandu’s most important Buddhist shrine. The all-seeing eyes of Buddha stare out into the city, watching over its inhabitants.
Nearing the end of the journey, you will go to Tengboche Monastery in the Khumbu region in eastern Nepal. Situated at 3,867 metres this monastery of the Sherpa people is the largest one in Khumbu. Built in 1916, it is located within Sagarmatha National Park and provides a wonderful panorama of The Himalayas.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport
Up on arrival meet our office representative at airport and transfer to hotel/ after refreshing complete the official formalities/ briefing about the package and rest of the day free for your own leisure/overnight at hotel in BB Basis.
Day 02: Kathmandu – Lumbini
After breakfast meet the guide and drive to domestic airport and fly to Lumbini (Birth place of Lord Buddha). Up on arrival there transfer hotel, be refresh and rest of the day free for personal activities.
Day 03: Lumbini Buddhist tour
At your hotel in Lumbini after breakfast meet the guide and drive to tour destination of Lumbini (Birth place of Lord Buddha). Full day guided sightseeing around- visit the most popular Peace Pagoda, Lumbini Garden, Maya Devi Temple, Tara Foundation, World China Temple, Thai Monastery, Burmese (Myanmar) Temple, Nepal Buddha Temple and Dharmaswami Buddhist monastery.
Day 04: Lumbini to Kathmandu
At your hotel in Lumbini after breakfast meet the guide and drive to tour destination of Lumbini (Birth place of Lord Buddha). Half day guided sightseeing around – visit rest of the popular shrines of Lumbini and after transfer to airport and fly back to Kathmandu. Again transfer to hotel in Kathmandu, refresh, rest and overnight.
Day 05: Sightseeing tour Buddhist Landmarks in Kathmandu
Full-day guided sightseeing around Kathmandu city’s Buddhist landmarks such as Bauddhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa and others in the historic Durbar Square areas. Lunch break will be during the tour at best restaurants available.
Day 06: Early in the morning drive to airport and fly to Lukla (2800m).
Up on arrival at Lukla have a breakfast and commence the trekking up to Phakding (2610m) and after 3 hour easy walking overnight at teahouse lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)
Day 07: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3500m).
About 4-5 hour hiking via Dudh Koshi river bank and ascending of Namche Hill you will be reached at remarkable town of Sherpa land Namche Bazaar which is the largest and most prosperous settlement in the Khumbu valley. It is also a historical trading center of the region- foods, salt, clothes and other stuffs are shopped by locals. Late afternoon visit the town and overnight at teahouse lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)
Day 08: Trek Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3870m)
From Namche Bazaar the trail climbs up and down to Sanasa and the trail descends gradually to Teshinga and then it drops steeply to Phunki Thanga there you will be crossing Dudh Koshi river. After climbing two hour from Phunki Thanga you will reach at Tengboche. Tengboche is a religious place for the Sherpa people of the entire Solukhumbu area. Here you will visit the Tengboche Monastery which is one of the biggest one of the region. During the fullmoon in November the monastery celebrates famous Mani Rimdu festival. For your overnight stay there at teahouse lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)
Day 09: Trek back to Phakding (2610m)
The trail again drops to Namche Bazar and have a short tea/coffee stop and continue descending via same route and on the way stop for the lunch break an hour at Jorsale Village. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)
Day 10: After breakfast from Phakding Village trek back to Lukla (2800m)
Use the same route again, be refreshed, have a lunch and rest at tea house lodge or afternoon free for personal activities and overnight stay there at teahouse lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)
Day 11: Early in the morning, transfer to airport.
Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu, end the trip and transfer to hotel, rest and afternoon free for personal activities. Evening fare well dinner with culture show at Nepalese Traditional Kitchen you will be enjoyed very authentic way of Nepalese hospitalities and overnight at hotel in BB Basis.
Day 12: After breakfast, transfer to airport
